Blue Grotto

 

(Grotta Azzurra), a grotto in the sheer limestone cliffs of the northern coast of the island of Capri in the Tyrrhenian Sea off Italy. Its bottom is under the sea. The Blue Grotto is 56 m long, 30 m wide, and 15 m above sea level; its entrance is 1.3 m high. Light comes into the grotto primarily through the water, giving the water and everything in the grotto a beautiful azure color. The Blue Grotto attracts many tourists.
