Established: 1985.
Location:9 miles north of Ripley.
Facilities:Visitor contact station, viewing sites, trails, auto tour route, boat ramps.
Activities:Boating, canoeing, fishing, hiking, hunting.
Special Features:Refuge protects some of the last remaining bottomland hardwood forest in the Lower Mississippi Valley and provides a stopover for waterfowl migrating and wintering along the Mississippi River.
Habitats: 24,096 acres of bottomland hardwood forest, agricultural lands, grassland/shrub, and open water.
Access: Open year round during daylight hours. Waterfowl sanctuary closed November 15 - March 15.
Wild life: Mallard, black duck, gadwall, pintail, wild turkey, and deer.
