blastocystic cavity

blastocystic cavity

the fluid-filled space that develops in the morula; the embryonic cells form a compact mass, the embryoblast, at the embryonic pole of the embryo. The embryo is now called a blastocyst.

blas·to·cyst·ic cav·i·ty

(blastō-sistik kavi-tē) This fluid-filled space appears inside the morula; the fluid passes from the uterine cavity through the zona pellucida forming the space; as fluid increases, it separates the the blastomeres into two parts: the trophoblast and embryoblast.
