fog horizon fog horizon[′fäg hə‚rīz·ən] (meteorology) The top of a fog layer which is confined by a low-level temperature inversion so as to give the appearance of the horizon when viewed from above against the sky; the true horizon is usually obscured by the fog in such instances. |
