Eublepharis

a genus of lizards of the family Gekkonidae. The lizards are distinguished from most other genera of the family by the presence of moveable eyelids. The body measures as much as 26 cm in length. The coloration is variegated, with a row of dark transverse stripes.

The genus embraces eight species, which are found in South west and South Asia, on the islands of Hainandao and Norway in Bakbau Bay and the Nansei Islands in Japan. One species,Eublepharis turkmenicus, is found in the central and western Kopetdag and southern Turkmenia and in neighboring regions of Iran. The oviparous animals are nocturnal, hiding in the lairs of rodents and under rocks during the day.
