Black-Mouthed Dogfish

 

(Pristiurus melanostomus), a fish of the family Scyliorhinidae. The fish reaches 1 m long. The upper edge of its caudal fin is toothed. The black-mouthed dogfish is found along the coast of Europe from Norway and the North Sea to the Adriatic. It lives in benthic coastal waters, at depths to 400 m. The fish feeds on small fish and crustaceans. Reproduction occurs in the spring, when the female lays two eggs enclosed in a capsule.
