Location:1 mile south of Winslow-Waterville bridge on US 201.

Special Features:The oldest blockhouse in the US is all that remains of Fort Halifax,which was built in 1754 to protect colonial settlements along theKennebec River. In 1987 the blockhouse was dismantled by flood waters,but boat crews recovered the log timbers and the blockhouse wasreassembled the following year. It is designated as a National HistoricLandmark. Open Memorial Day-Labor Day.
