Ferenc Tompa

Tompa, Ferenc

Born Jan. 6, 1893, in Budapest; died there Feb. 9,1945. Hungarian archaeologist.

Tompa became a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1935 and was a professor at the University of Budapest from 1938 to 1945. Tompa’s main works dealt with the Stone and Bronze ages and the periodization of Bronze Age cultures in present-day Hungary.
