DentariaDentariaa genus of perennial herbs (family Cruciferae) with scaly roots. Their leaves may be pinnate, ternate, or palmate, and their large flowers are clustered in racemes. The petals may be white, pale yellow, or purple, and the fruit is a pod. About 20 species may be found in North America and Eurasia. In the USSR there are seven or eight species, of which D. bulbifera and D. quinquefolia grow in deciduous forests and glades in the European USSR and in the Caucasus. The species D. bulbifera has black bulbils that develop in leaf axils. This and other species of Dentaria are cultivated as ornamentals. Dentaria
