Special Features:Museum houses California's official mineral collection, established in1880 to educate the public about the significance of the state'smineral resources. The collection includes nearly 20,000 specimens,including many rarities discovered during the mid- to late 1800s.Displays include the Fricot Nugget, the largest crystalline goldspecimen discovered during the Gold Rush era.
