Döbeln

a city in the German Democratic Republic in the Leipzig District, on the Freiberger Mulde River. Population, 28,000 (1969). It is a transport junction. Döbeln has metal-working, agricultural machine building, and motor vehicle spare parts manufacturing, as well as poultry, tobacco, and pharmaceutical industries.
