Corebox
Corebox
a box in which mold cores are produced. Cores are used to form apertures and cavities in casts. According to design, coreboxes can be one-piece (dump type) or separable (split type). The selection of a corebox depends on the shape and dimensions of the core, the method by which the core is produced (manually or by machine), and the production process in which the core will be used. Coreboxes can be made from wood, steel, cast iron, aluminum alloys, plastics, and, sometimes, gypsum. Metal coreboxes have the greatest precision and durability.
