Location:In south-central North Dakota, 15 miles northwest of Medina.
Facilities:Visitor contact station, viewing sites.
Activities:Fishing, hunting, educational programs.
Special Features:Chase Lake NWR is the second oldest refuge in North Dakota, originally established to protect the native white pelican.
Habitats: 4,385 acres of native prairie grassland and wetlands.
Access: A special use permit is required to enter the refuge.
Wild life: American white pelican, piping plover, Canada goose, tundra swan, fox, coyote, badger, long-tailed weasel.
