Q. How do you calculate the weeks of a pregnancy? I'm confused! My Doctor calculates my pregnancy by weeks and my friends and family through months. Can someone tell me how it goes exactly? Are there 4 weeks every month, if so then there should be 36 weeks not 40?!A. Each pregnancy month doesn't have exactly 4 weeks as a regular month. Its divided more into trimesters which each trimester is between 12-14 weeks long.

I don't mean to burst any bubbles, but BMI is definitely not a good way to determine what weight you should be.
