Cordiamin
(coramine, nikethamide, nicamide), a medicinal preparation that stimulates the central nervous system, excites respiration, and tones the cardiovascular system.
Cordiamin is a 25-percent solution of the diethylamide of nicotinic acid. It is taken internally (in drops) or injected subcutaneously, intramuscularly, or intravenously (diluted) for cardiac asthenia, weak breathing, asphyxia, intoxication, and shock.
