Belgorod-Riazanskii
Belgorod-Riazanskii
an old Russian city, first mentioned in the Nikon Chronicle under the year 1155; in 1208 it was burned by Prince Vsevolod Bol’shoe Gnezdo (Big Nest) during the Riazan’ campaign. Opinions vary as to the location of Belgorod-Riazanskii: (1) at the place where the Kishna (Kishka) River flows into the Oka, below Staraia Riazan’ (Spasskii Raion); (2) on the Oka 2 km from Dedinov; (3) on the Pronia River, at the Lubiansk gorodishche (site of a fortified town).
