Bale Pick-Up and Stacker

Bale Pick-Up and Stacker

a machine that picks up bales of hay or straw prepared by a hay baler, stacks them on a platform, and hauls them to a stacking site. Machines produced in the USSR are used in unit with tractors rated at 1.4 tons-force. The working elements are driven by a takeoff shaft from the tractor engine and hydraulic system. The machines can load two to three platforms with 72 bales each in one hour. They are capable of speeds of 6–9 km/hr and have load capacities of 2,500 kg.

Machines used abroad differ somewhat in design. In the German Democratic Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany, for example, hay balers are connected to a loader, which throws the finished bales into a wagon hitched behind the tractor.
