American Type Culture Collection

 (ATCC) an organization in Rockville, Maryland, established as a depository for reference cultures. It maintains and distributes authentic reference strains of algae, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, bacteriophages, and viruses, as well as cell lines of animal tissues.

American Type Culture Collection

An independent, private, nonprofit biological resource center (BRC) and research organisation, which is the oldest repository of cell lines in the US (Rockville, MD), which contains nearly 100,000 strains of biologicals in its regular collection and 3600 cell lines from 150 animal species, with 950 cancer cell lines and 1,000 hybridomas.
