Znamensk

(previously Velau), an urban-type settlement in Gvardeisk Raion, Kaliningrad Oblast, RSFSR, on the right bank of the Pregolia River at the mouth of the Lava River. Railroad station 50 km east of Kaliningrad. It is the site of a paper mill, a flour mill, and a plant producing margarine.
