Zlicane
Zličane
one of the ancient Czech tribes. The Zličane tribe settled the territory near the modern city of Kouřim in the Czech Socialist Republic. The tribe was the center of the formation of the Zličane principality, which in the early tenth century included the eastern and southern Czech lands and the area of the Doudlebi tribe. The chief city of the principality was Libice. The Libice princes, the Slavniks, vied with Prague in the struggle for the unification of the Czech lands. In 995 the Zličane were subordinated to the Přemyslovichi.
