Zhurnal Technicheskoi Fiziki
(Journal of Technical Physics), a monthly scientific journal of the Division of General Physics and Astronomy of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. It has been published in Leningrad since 1931, replacing Prikladnaia fizika (Applied Physics), a journal founded by A. F. loffe and published from 1924 to 1931. One volume, consisting of 12 issues, is published annually. The journal publishes papers on atomic and molecular physics, physics and diagnostics of plasma, gaseous discharges, the physics of surface phenomena, electron optics, accelerators of charged particles, quantum electronics, holography, gas dynamics, hydrodynamics, and magnetodynamics, mathematical physics, and electrodynamics. The journal is aimed at scientific workers, university instructors, engineers, and students. In 1972 the circulation was about 2,500. Since 1956, an English translation of the journal has been published in the USA.
