Zhurnal Eksperimental’noi i Teoreticheskoifiziki
(Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics; ZhETF), a monthly scientific journal of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. It began to be published in 1931 in place of the physics part of Zhurnal russkogofiziko-khimicheskogo obshchestva (Journal of the Russian Physical Chemistry Society). It is published in Moscow in two volumes per year, six fascicles per volume. The journal publishes original scientific studies in all areas of experimental and theoretical physics. It is intended for scientific workers, university instructors, and advanced students. Academician P. L. Kapitsa has been the editor in chief since 1955. Circulation (1972), 2,340. To speed the release of information concerning scientific discoveries, the section “Pis’ma v redaktsiiu” (Letters to the Editor) was replaced by a separate journal, Pis’ma v ZhETF (Letters to ZhETF; two volumes per year, 12 issues per volume). Since 1956, ZhETF has also been published in the USA in English.
