Zhashkov

a city (since 1956) and the administrative center of Zhashkov Raion, Cherkassy Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Zhashkov is a railway station. Population, 13,800 (1970). It has a sugar refinery, a powdered-milk plant, a creamery, and a brickyard. There is a museum of local lore.
