单词 zero gravity
释义

zero gravity

zero gravity

n. A condition of apparent or real weightlessness such as that experienced in orbit or in free fall, or in a region lacking a gravitational field.

zero gravity

or

zero-G

n (General Physics) the state or condition of weightlessness

ze′ro grav′ity

n. the condition in which the apparent effect of gravity is zero, as on a body in free fall or in orbit. Also called ze•ro-g, ze•ro-G (ˈzɪər oʊˈdʒi) [1950–55]

zero gravity

The condition of apparent weightlessness occurring when a body in a gravitational field moves in such a way as to counterbalance its gravitational force. For example, astronauts orbiting Earth in a shuttle or space station experience zero gravity because the spacecraft continually accelerates in its orbit in order to prevent it from being pulled into the atmosphere. This acceleration, which is often referred to as a centrifugal force, counterbalances gravity exactly.
