Zemetchino

an urban-type settlement, the administrative center of Zemetchino Raion, in the west of Penza Oblast, RSFSR. Situated on the Mashnia River (in the Tsna basin). It has a railroad station on the Kustarevka-Vernadovka line. Population, 11,000 (1970). A sugar refinery, a butter and cheese dairy, a garment factory, and a people’s amateur theater are located there.
