Zavitinsk

(until 1954, the settlement of Zavitaia), a city, the administrative center of Zavitinsk Raion, Amur Oblast, RSFSR. It has a railroad station; a branch (89 km) runs from Zavitinsk to the settlement of Poiarkovo. Population, 19,000 (1970). Zavitinsk has a soy-bean mill, a brickyard, and a creamery.
