Zaleshchiki

a city (since 1939) in Zaleshchiki Raion, Ternopol’ Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, on the Dnestr River. It is a railroad station on the Ternopol’-Chernovtsy line. It has a cannery, a creamery, a textile and haberdashery plant, and a factory for household and consumer items. There is also a horticultural technicum, a regional studies museum, a tuberculosis sanatorium for children, and a seasonal house of rest (May-September).
