[zə‚nu̇ŋ·gyə ′läd·ə] (paleontology) An order of large, digitigrade, extinct, tapirlike mammals with relatively short, slender limbs and five-toed feet with broad, flat phalanges; restricted to the Paleocene deposits of Brazil and Argentina.
