释义 | Wright, Harold BellWright, Harold Bell(1872–1944) writer; born in Rome, N.Y. His family settled in Sennett, N.Y., where he was schooled. His mother died in 1883, and he became an itinerant worker before studying for the ministry (1894–96). Although he was not ordained, he preached at a variety of churches, and settled on a farm near Escondido, Calif. He wrote popular melodramatic religious novels, such as The Shepherd of the Hills (1907). |
