Gynecology A transformation zone–the interface between the cervical and endocervical mucosa, which is characterized by various patterns–eg, leukoplakia, acetowhite epithelium and abnormal vascular patterns, changed epithelial thickness, nuclear density, vascular proliferation; 90% of cervical neoplasias–CIN and invasive CA arise in the transformation zone.
