Working Order

 

the condition of a technical device in which it meets all requirements stipulated by technical documentation. A device is considered in working order when all parameters defining its operating ability, condition, and appearance are within assigned limits and, in addition, when there are no failures of reserve units and elements. A product can go from working order to being out of order as a result of failure or damage.

Standing order in the marketplace, through which a broker bids or offers to fill the order in a series of lots at opportune times in hopes of obtaining the best price.

Market Order

An order to buy or sell a security at the best price available when the order is made. Brokers who execute these orders must make a good faith effort to find the best possible price. It is also called an at-the-market order.
