Windfall Varieties
Windfall Varieties
varieties of trees that have a shallow surface, diffuse root system, as a result of which they are uprooted by storms and hurricanes. Windfall varieties include spruce in hard clay and damp soils, and spruce and pine in swampy places, sandy soils where the groundwater level is close, and soils with close permafrost rock. The windfall varieties among the deciduous trees include birch, beech, honey locust, and sometimes aspen.
