White Spaces Coalition

White Spaces Coalition

An alliance of Microsoft, Google, Dell, HP, Intel, Philips, Earthlink and Samsung created to lobby for the unlicensed use of the protection bands between TV channels prior to U.S. broadcasters converting to digital in 2009. The alliance was organized to determine if unlicensed products could transmit in these bands without interfering with TV broadcasts, wireless microphones and other devices in that spectrum.
