Weisswasser

a city in the German Democratic Republic, in Cottbus District, Upper Lusatia. Population, 17,000 (1968). There is a railroad station. Weisswasser is a major manufacturer of glass and technical glass products (including some used in the radio and electronics industry), as well as porcelain products and machinery. Brown coal is mined in the surrounding region.
