释义 | Weiss, Paul A.Weiss, Paul A. (Alfred)(1898–1989) developmental biologist; born in Vienna, Austria. He taught and performed research in Vienna and Germany (1922–30) before coming to Yale (1931–33). He joined the University of Chicago (1933–54), then moved to Rockefeller University (1954–64), remaining active as an adviser and visiting professor in his retirement. His proof of nerve regeneration became instrumental in surgical transplant techniques during and after World War II. He made major contributions to studies of cell organization in both developing embryos and mixed cells in culture (1950s–60s). |
