webcasting (multimedia, World-Wide Web)(From "World-Wide Web" and"broadcast", sometimes just called "push") Multicasting onthe Internet. Webcasting implies real-time streamingtransmission of encoded video (or audio) under the controlof the server to multiple recipients who all receive thesame content at the same time. This is in contrast to normalweb browsing which is controlled from the browser byindividual users and may take arbitrarily long to deliver acomplete document.
