Weak Hands

Weak Hands

1. A holder of a futures contract who does not intend to take delivery of the underlying asset. While this strategy is a fairly common speculative investment, an investor with weak hands connotes a small investor who lacks the capital to actually buy the underlying asset and simply trades in contracts.

2. In foreign exchange, an investor who sells at the first negative news or price change. This has a slightly negative connotation and other investors seek to profit from the sales of investors with weak hands.
