Washington Visual Double-Star Catalog

Washington Visual Double-Star Catalog

A whole-sky catalog of binary and optical double stars prepared by Charles E. Worley and Geoffrey G. Douglass and issued by the US Naval Observatory, Washington D. C. The latest edition (1996) lists 78 100 objects, giving the position of each double and the magnitude of the brighter component. Multiple stars are split into pairs. The positions given in the catalog are those for 1900, as given in earlier catalogs, such as the 1961 Index Catalog of Visual Double stars (Jeffers and Van den Bos), but have been precessed to epoch 2000.0.
