(1) Flat or slightly rolling relief in the Tien-Shan, situated at elevations of 3,500–4,000 m. Syrty are remains of the leveling plain that have been curved in modern times into great folds, fractured, and dissected by erosion.
(2) A broad watershed dissected by ravines in the Low Trans-Volga Region (also Syrt Trans-Volga Region) and the High Trans-Volga Region, for example, Obshchii Syrt.
