Vegetable Pulp

Vegetable Pulp

(1) A waste product of starch production used as fodder for farm animals. Potato, corn, and wheat are the three kinds of pulp. Potato pulp is composed of cell walls with a negligible starch content; corn and wheat pulp also contain gluten. Fresh, silaged, and dried vegetable pulp is fed mainly to cattle (15-30 kg of fresh pulp per day) and swine (8-10 kg).

(2) A mixture of crushed grapes prepared for further processing in the wine-making industry.
