Siniukha

a river in the Ukrainian SSR, a left tributary of the Iuzhnii Bug. Formed by the confluence of the Bol’shaia Vys’ and Tikich rivers, the Siniukha is 111 km long (283 km when measured with the Gniloi Tikich River, the largest branch of the Tikich) and drains an area of 16,700 sq km. It is fed primarily by snow. The mean flow rate 12 km from the mouth is 29.4 cu m per sec. The river freezes in December, and the ice breaks up in March or early April. There are three small hydroelectric power plants on the Siniukha; the city of Pervomaisk is situated at the mouth.
