Podlinnik Litsevoi

(also litsevoi podlinnik), in ancient Russian painting, a collection of model drawings (prorisi) incorporating the iconography or composition of various types of representation. The collection also presented detailed instructions on painting techniques to be used by the painters. An example is The Stroganov Litsevoi Podlinnik of the early 17th century.
