Location:Along the banks of the Pocomoke River, in two separate sections: ShadLanding (544 acres), 3.5 miles south of Snow Hill near Rt 113; andMilburn Landing (370 acres), 7 miles northeast of Pocomoke City via Rt364 or 12, within Pocomoke State Forest.
Facilities:223 improved campsites (some with electric hookups), hot showers, flushtoilets, 12 mini-cabins, youth group camping sites, camp store, picnicareas and shelters, playgrounds, comfort stations, multi-use trails,swimming pool, fishing piers, marina, boat launch, boat rental(rowboats and canoes), food concession, visitor center (é).
Activities:Camping, boating, flatwater canoeing, freshwater fishing, swimming, hiking, bicycling, interpretive programs.
Special Features:The park's combination of swamp and upland offers a great variety of plant and animal life, including white dogwood and pink laurel in the spring, river otters and bald eagles, and more than 50 species of fish. The Shad Landing area was a historically important link in a chain of refuges for runaway slaves seeking freedom in the north.
