Pochep

a city and administrative center of Pochep Raion, Briansk Oblast, RSFSR. Situated on the Sudost’ River, a tributary of the Desna, Pochep has a railroad station on the Briansk-Unecha line, 84 km southwest of Briansk. It has food-processing and woodworking enterprises, as well as a hemp factory. Population, 16,000 (1974).
