[′tel·ə‚vizh·ən ən ′rā‚där ‚nav·ə′gā·shən ‚sis·təm] (navigation) Navigational system which employs ground-based search radar equipment along an airway to locate aircraft flying near that airway; transmits, by television, information pertaining to these aircraft and other information to the pilots of properly equipped aircraft, and provides information to the pilots appropriate for use in the landing approach.
