Artsiz

a city (until 1963, an urban-type settlement), the administrative center of Artsiz Raion, Odessa Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located in the Kogil’nik River valley. A railroad junction for lines to Odessa and Izmail. Population, 15,000 (1968). Artsiz has rail transport enterprises, a poultry combine, a cheese factory, and other plants.
