Automatic Sheet-Metal Stamping Machine

Automatic Sheet-Metal Stamping Machine

a mechanical (crank and connecting-rod or cam) or hydraulic stamping machine in which all movements of the actuating mechanisms are performed in an automatic cycle. Automatic sheet-stamping machines are designed for cold punching out, drawing, bending, perforating, straightening, embossing, shearing, and marking operations performed on sheets, strips, and rolled ribbons.

The design of automatic sheet-metal stamping machines and of the tools (dies) used makes possible multiposition stamping with linear or circular movement of the blanks. The stamping waste is cut into pieces with knives or rolled into coils. The thickness of sheet material suitable for automatic stamping ranges from 0.05 to 10 mm. Automatic sheet-stamping machines produced in the USSR have a rated force of 50 to 40,000 kilo-newtons, or 5 to 4000 tons-force. The output of automatic sheet stamping machines ranges from 8 to 1,200 articles per min.
