Tekeli

a city under oblast jurisdiction in Taldy-Kurgan Oblast, Kazakh SSR. Located in the upper course of the Karatal River, in the foothills of the Dzungarian Alatau. Terminus of a railroad branch from the Semipalatinsk-Alma-Alta line. Population, 30,700 (1975). Tekeli has a lead and zinc combine, a brickyard, and knitwear and garment factories. Building materials are also manufactured in the city.
