Pyzhik
Pyzhik
the Russian designation for a one-month-old reindeer. The term pyzhik also refers to the skin of such a fawn. The hairy covering is luxurious and soft, with shiny and resilient guard hair measuring 1–2.5 cm in length and a dense undercoat. The coloration is dark or light brown; some individuals have a mottled coloration. The skins are obtained in the northern regions of Murmansk and Arkhangel’sk oblasts, in the Komi ASSR, in Tiumen’ Oblast, in Krasnoiarsk Krai, in the Yakut ASSR, and in several regions in the Soviet Far East.
