Reznikoff, Charles

(1894–1976) poet, writer; born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He studied at the University of Missouri (1910–11), settled in New York City, and earned a law degree from New York University (1915). He worked in publishing much of his life, and is noted for his spare poetry of the objectivist school. He often dealt with the role of Judaism in his life, as in Poems 1937–75 (1977).
